Significant stars in the history of modern professional wrestling have been created based on pivotal events, including “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s well-known “Austin 3:16” promo. On the other hand, by failing to act at the appropriate times, just as many potential stars were lost. In the inaugural edition of his podcast, “Lex Expressed,” former WWE star Lex Luger drew comparisons between his own background and the current WWE booking of Cody Rhodes.
“There is a lot to say for seizing the moment,” stated Luger. “Cody has a lot of speed. Therefore, it is occasionally necessary to grasp the moment. Other stars are now visible as they rise. There are rumours that The Rock will arrive. I consider [Cody] to be among the best employees, one of the greatest interviewers, and he has flawless costumery.”
Though all of these things are going well for Rhodes, Luger is a little concerned about the second-generation star’s status on TV. Like some others in the business, Luger believes that Rhodes ought to have won WWE WrestleMania 39 earlier this year against Roman Reigns.
“I know he’s very confident, and I don’t know what storyline they have for him,” Luger said. “Perhaps he passed on the opportunity. We will find out. Hopefully not.
Rhodes made a comeback earlier this year to win the WWE Men’s Royal Rumble, having missed a large portion of 2022. Before starting a feud with Brock Lesnar, he later lost to Reigns at WrestleMania. After defeating Lesnar at WWE Summer Slam, Rhodes formed an alliance to take on The Judgement Day with Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens. This past Saturday’s WWE Fastlane gave Rhodes and Uso the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship, which might put distance between them and Zayn/Owens.
