For the India ODIs, Steve Smith is one of several veteran players making a comeback to the Australia team.
Travis Head, who suffered a fracture to his left hand in the fourth ODI against South Africa and is now expected to return home, will not be included in Cummins’ 18-man team for the World Cup.
Australia’s squad:
Matt Short, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, Adam Zampa, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Tanveer Sangha, Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Spencer Johnson, and Pat Cummins (c).
Marnus Labuschagne, who may eventually replace Head in the team if necessary, is scheduled to play India in the one-day international series. Like Marnus, Tanveer Sanga and Nathan Ellis have been selected for the three ODIs that are slated to take place in Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot. Tanveer Sanga is not included in the World Cup team.
An enlarged 18-man squad has been announced for the three ODIs that are slated to take place in Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot. The squad includes uncapped players Matt Short and Spencer Johnson.
