The son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar, had a memorable night on Tuesday when he took his first-ever IPL 2023 wicket for Mumbai Indians against SunRisers Hyderabad. After the first two overs, MI captain Arjun bowled the final over with SRH needing 20 runs to win.Arjun bowled a few yorkers, caught Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and helped his team win the game by 14 runs. Sachin was obviously quite proud as well because he and his son received congratulations from well-known people.

A day after his bowling prowess, MI shared a video of several of its young bowlers batting on social media. Arjun was seen in the video making huge shots. While Arjun Tendulkar is most renowned for his left-arm pace bowling, he replicated his father’s success by smashing a century for Goa against Rajasthan on his Ranji Trophy debut in December 2022.
You’d think it was their first job based on how well they were performing. Re-look,” MI wrote as the post’s caption.
Several current and former cricket players praised Arjun for remaining calm under pressure, but former SunRisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody said it is too early to call the teenager a “death-over bowler.”
“If you judge him solely based on execution, he did it correctly. He bowled on the side of the field he was looking at, with the proper line, length, and amount of deliveries that were near yorkers. He and Rohit would have been under tremendous strain because they wouldn’t have known Arjun Tendulkar would be one of their death bowlers at the start of the innings, according to Moody in a conversation on ESPNcricinfo.

Arjun can, according to Moody, be deployed in the middle innings depending on the circumstances. Moody was the SRH coach when they won the IPL in 2016.
He has a position in that team that is obviously to bowl with a fresh ball, which he has done twice now. If the timing is correct, I may envision his part in one of the middle overs. But a specialist in dying? Most definitely not. That being said, he can be proud of his performance and leave with it. He had 20 runs and a tail to bowl to, but we have seen things go wrong like that before. So, he has succeeded,’ he said.
