Shubman Gill will also miss India’s second match against Afghanistan

The BCCI announced on Monday (October 9) that Shubman Gill will also miss India’s next World Cup match against Afghanistan.

Gill would stay in Chennai under the medical staff’s supervision rather than even travelling to Delhi with the Indian team.

The 24-year-old missed India’s opening tournament match against Australia in Chennai on Sunday due to a recent bout of dengue. Ishan Kishan began the Indian batting order in his absence but was out for a duck.

India’s next match is against Pakistan on October 14, which will take place in Ahmedabad after the team plays Afghanistan in Delhi on October 11.
